About Me

Hi, I’m Hope! I am a Business major at Biola University and a member of the Torrey Honors College, Biola’s esteemed honors program. I am passionate about problem-solving, connecting with people, building community, and seeing ideas and projects through to completion.

During my time at Biola, I have had the privilege of engaging in various opportunities that have shaped my growth and skills. These include participating in research projects on generational trends, serving as a student leader, learning data analysis techniques, and immersing myself fully in the learning process.

Beyond my academic pursuits, I am deeply involved in activities outside the classroom. I hold two on-campus jobs. I work as an Events Coordinator for Biola. This position allows me to plan events encouraging diversity, culture, and belonging. I also work as an assistant in Biola University’s Human Resources Department. This role has taught me a lot about organization, the hiring process, and customer service.

On Wednesday nights, I lead a small group for 6th-grade girls at church—a role that has fostered my love for leadership and encouraging others to thrive.

In my free time, I enjoy grabbing a cup of tea and spending time with friends. I also love playing pickleball, tackling challenging philosophical texts, and discovering new music. These hobbies keep me active, spark creative and critical thinking, and provide opportunities to connect with others meaningfully.

Human Resources Intern at Goodfellow Airforce Base

I worked as an intern for the summers of 2023 and 2024. My job as an intern for Goodfellow Airforce Base allowed me to learn how to work in a professional environment, phone etiquette, filing, and collaborating. I was exposed to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe. I also discovered how much I value social interaction in the workplace.

Work Experience

Heritage Event Coordinator for the Office of Campus Engagement

My position allows me to plan traditional and heritage events on campus to educate students and faculty alike on cultural diversity and to create opportunities for people to feel seen and connected. My Job as a traditions coordinator has helped my ability to lead a team, collaborate on projects, plan, and research, and has improved my editing skills. It has also allowed me to learn and appreciate various cultures through research and connecting with people.

Human Resources Assistant at Biola University

Working as an assistant for Human Resources at Biola is a big responsibility since I am the first face that people see when walking into HR. I have learned how to knowledgeably answer questions from staff, students, faculty, and visitors. I assist people with various processes including but not limited to hiring, filling out an I9 or W4, requesting an F1 Letter, and paycheck information. This job has taught me the importance of organization, and remaining calm under pressure.
