About Me

Hi, I am Hope! I am a business major at Biola University and I am apart of the Torrey Honors College which is the honors program at Biola University. I am passionate about problem-solving, connecting with people, forming community, and following ideas and projects through till the end. Throughout my time at Biola, I have had the opportunity to be involved in research projects on different generations, serve as a student leader, learn how to analyze data, and actively integrate myself within my learning.

In addition to my academic studies, I am actively involved in learning outside the classroom. I work two jobs on campus. I work as a Traditions Coordinator for the Office of Campus Engagement and I also work as the front desk office assistant for Biola University’s Human Resources department.

On my Wednesday nights, I enjoy leading a small group at church for 6th-grade girls. This experience has instilled a love of leading and seeing others excel.

When I have free time, I love to grab a cup of tea while hanging out with friends. I enjoy playing pickleball, struggling through hard philosophical texts, and exploring new music. These activities not only keep me active and engaged but also inspire me to think creatively and critically and connect with others.

Human Resources Intern at Goodfellow Airforce Base

I worked as an intern for the summers of 2023 and 2024. My job as an intern for Goodfellow Airforce Base allowed me to learn how to work in a professional environment, phone etiquette, filing, and collaborating. I was exposed to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe. I also discovered how much I value social interaction in the workplace.

Work Experience

Traditions Coordinator in the Office of Campus Engagement

My position allows me to plan traditional and heritage events on campus to educate students and faculty alike on cultural diversity and to create opportunities for people to feel seen and connected. My Job as a traditions coordinator has helped my ability to lead a team, collaborate on projects, plan, research, and has improved my editing skills. It has also allowed me to learn and appreciate various cultures through research and connecting with people.

Human Resources Receptionist at Biola University

Working as the front desk receptionist for Human Resources at Biola is a big responsibility since I am the first face that people see when walking into HR. I have learned how to knowledgeably answer questions from staff, students, faculty, and visitors. I assist people with various processes including but not limited to hiring, filling out an I9 or W4, requesting an F1 Letter, and paycheck information. This job has taught me the importance of organization, and remaining calm under pressure.
